Diffractive DNA imaging
CFEL2020-RA05
DNA origami can be used as scaffolds, templates, or holographic reference objects in single-particle diffractive imaging. In this project, the student will explore these approaches by designing systems based on diffraction simulations and then synthesising complexes of biological objects or nanoparticles with DNA origami structures for experiments at XFELs. This is an interdisciplinary project and can be tailored towards a student of physics, nanoscience, or biochemistry. The student should have an interest in biophysics or nanoscience and in programming and data visualisation.
